POLSON — We often hear – “do people really still use the library?” Absolutely. Some might think that libraries are no longer relevant - they buy books online, do online searches for research, purchase music and music streaming services, and buy magazines at the grocery store. Did you know that you can get all of that completely free with your free library card? We have thousands of books and DVDs to choose from and can get just about anything you can’t find here. Montana Library2Go is full of completely free e-books and audiobooks, Freegal offers free music and music video downloads and streaming of over 13 million songs from thousands of labels, including the entire Sony Music catalog, and you can read popular magazines for free using Flipster. All of this is available through links on our website as well as several tools for doing all kinds of family, historical, and practical research. We even have a database that gives you the information you need to make repairs on your car. Take a minute and check it out at www.northlakecountylibrary.org. We think you will be pleasantly surprised.

During November the library is celebrating National Novel Writing Month. Each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, November 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. we are offering “come write in” sessions in our small meeting room. These sessions are held for anyone who would like to have a place to write. If you are interested in learning more about NaNoWriMo visit www.nanowrimo.org or contact Kendra at the library.

Technology specialist Heather is hosting “Absolute Basics: Techniques and Troubleshooting” on Tuesday, November 28 at 2 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room. She will be teaching how to solve problems, connect devices, and how to set up Wi-Fi. Call or stop by the Library to reserve your spot.

The Library’s hours are Monday - Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We open at 10 a.m. on days that have a children’s program. Visit our website www.northlakecountylibrary.org and our Facebook page for updates on the happenings at the Library.
