Lights Under the Big Sky debuts December 1-17

RONAN – Kick off the Christmas season with a trip to the Lake County Fairgrounds where Mission Valley Presents Lights Under the Big Sky will throw the switch on thousands of lights on December 1 at 5 p.m.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, with different events each weekend. Lights Under the Big Sky will run on weekends through December 17. Santa will be on grounds each day to hear Christmas wishes.

On December 1 visit the 4-H Christmas Bazaar in the Horticulture Barn from 4 to 9 p.m., kids crafts in the Elf Workshop beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wander through the light displays, holiday vignettes and selfie stops. Fire pits placed around the fairgrounds provide a quick warm-up or a place to sit and visit.

The 4-H Bazaar will open at 9 a.m. on December 2 and close at 4 p.m. At 2 p.m. visitors also may preview the Big Sky Christmas Market in the Community Center. The lights go on and the fire pits are flickering at 5 p.m. with kids crafts in the Elf House beginning at 5:30.

Adults will need their dancing shoes since Jimni will play at in the Horticulture Barn alias the Reindeer Watering Hole from 6-ish to 9 p.m. The Valley Club will provide a catered bar.

On Sunday, lights go on a 1 p.m. Entertainment will be the Ukulele Band followed by the Del DesJarlais Band from 2 to 3 p.m. with kids games and the Holiday Carnival from 2 to 5 p.m.
