StoryMakers workshop set for December 16

From Lake County Public Health

PABLO — The Best Beginnings Children’s Partnership and CSKT Project Launch are co-hosting a Hopa Mountain StoryMakers workshop on the Salish Kootenai College campus on Saturday, December 16, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This interactive workshop will take place at the D’Arcy McNickle Library and is open to all families, but is focused toward those who parent/care for children up to the age of 5.

Breakfast snacks will start out the day, and beginning at 9:30 a.m., Hopa Mountain staff will facilitate a discussion about the advantages of reading to your children. While the parents are participating in the discussion, childcare will be provided on-site in another room of the library. After the discussion, the adults will be able to choose some books to take home, and since it is right before the holidays, a gift wrapping area will be available so that the books may be wrapped up and given as gifts. There is no cost for this event, including the books!

For more information, please contact Jenifer Blumberg, coordinator of the BBCP of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County, at 883-7209.
